@Sean – You are so right in many ways but may I remind you that MY list is based on MY experience. I have never seen Malcolm X or Mommy Dearest. I’ve certainly seen Bruce Lee but he was playing himself, not a character unlike himself.

To say my list is racist and sexist is a stretch as this list again was developed from my own movie watching experiences and not by some pole given out to a specific race or gender.

Finally as far as the old movies – again, have not seen many of those so cannot really draw from any movie character experience there.

I love how people always seem to think there weren’t any movies before 1970! Where is any role played by James Cagney, Humprhey Bogart,Rex Harrison, James Earl Jones (cough Darth), Audrey Hepburn, Betty Davis, Orson Welles, Cary Grant or a host of others??? Not to mention this is a list bordering on racist AND sexist. You mean to tell me Heath Ledger’s performance as Joker as fine as it was is better than Denzel as Malcom X? What about Bruce Lee in ANY movie? Uma was badass in Kill Bill but is she really more memorable than Faye Dunaway in Mommie Dearest??? PLEASE!!

What a fun trip down memory lane! But, but, but… where’s Tom Hanks’ portrayal of Forrest Gump? And what about Darth Vader? And don’t get me started on memorable animated movie characters or we’ll be here all day.
