@lauren chinkin - You are thinking about the Dream Suite that Disney Imagineers recently completed in the place where The Disney Gallery used to resides. There is still a small apartment located just above the Fire House where Walt used to stay often when he was at the park.

He had planned on building a larger apartment in New Orleans Square so he could not only entertain VIPs and dignitaries but also so his family could stay in the park as well. Unfortunately he died before that could be completed so that space was used for many other things over the years - The Disney Gallery included.

Walt's original apartment is still intact today. In fact, they keep a lamp burning in a window just above the Fire House continually, just in case Walt ever decides to return. Check it out the next time you visit the park.

I think Disneyland has got to be the most magical place I've ever visited. It's the only amusement park that can never get old, no matter how many times you visit them.

Great post btw.
